Treasury launches NISTA to tackle infrastructure delays

Infrastructure strategy and delivery were formally combined last week as the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority (NISTA) was launched.

The Government said bringing together the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) and the Infrastructure and Projects Authority was fundamental for speeding up infrastructure delivery, implementing the 10-year infrastructure strategy and enabling its Plan for Change.

NISTA is currently being led by Jean-Christophe Gray, who will act as interim chief executive until a permanent boss is appointed. Chief secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones also appointed the NIC commissioners to form an Advisory Council for NISTA.

Alongside, the Government published The Teal Book, “the definitive guide for successful project delivery in government, which is set to transform how government projects are planned, managed, and delivered, benefitting hard-working people”.
