Suez opens UK smart meter data monitoring hub

Suez has opened a Smart Operations Centre in the UK, to provide smart meter data monitoring and analysis services to water companies as they roll out smart meters in 2025-30 and beyond.

The facility, in Maidenhead, promises to provide companies with comprehensive, visual representation of the real-time performance of their meters and network assets.

Suez said this should facilitate the early identification and troubleshooting of performance issues to optimise the performance of the network, and that the centre would “serve as a hub for monitoring and managing the daily operation of transmitters, receivers, storage servers, and the telecom transmission chain, and will also allow remote maintenance on transmitters and concentrators, such as software updates”.

Suez has deployed 7m smart meters worldwide, and has similar smart centres elsewhere, including in Paris.
