Severn Trent secures Carbon Trust accolade

Severn Trent has become the first water company to receive the 'Advancing' level certificate from the Carbon Trust, a part of the climate change consultancy’s Route to Net Zero Standard.

The second of three tiers, the Advancing certification is awarded to companies that demonstrate science-aligned reductions in operational emissions, have clear science-aligned reduction targets, and are advancing their COe management practices.

Severn Trent has remained committed to achieving net zero operational carbon by 2030, including sourcing 100% of its energy from renewable sources. As part of its work to reduce its emissions, the company is testing a range of technologies to reduce its process emissions at its Net Zero Hub in Strongford.
