Ofwat opens Cardiff base

Ofwat has opened a Wales office for the first time.

Speaking at the launch of the new Cardiff base, chief executive David Black explained that Ofwat’s Welsh team is growing “which is testament to the importance of our work in Wales and comes at a critical time for the water industry”. He also stressed that the development underlined Ofwat’s “continued commitment to foster even closer collaboration with the Welsh Government, partner regulators, water companies and Welsh customers”.

Black set the Cardiff office launch in the context of wider changes at Ofwat, including becoming more proactive in regulation and engaging constructively with the Cunliffe Review.
