Nicola Shaw to become Yorkshire Water chief as Liz Barber announces her retirement

Nicola Shaw, most recently UK executive director for National Grid, will succeed Liz Barber as chief executive of Yorkshire Water on 9 May.

Barber last week announced her retirement after nearly 12 years with the company – three as chief executive officer and nine as chief financial officer. The timing will enable Shaw to to lead the development of Yorkshire’s AMP8 business plan and PR24 delivery.

Shaw is highly experienced in a range of regulated sectors. Prior to her role at National Grid, she was chief executive of High Speed 1 and a director of First Group. She is also currently a non-executive director of International Airlines Group.
