EnTrade opens a nature market for Cornwall

EnTrade and Arup have partnered with Cornwall Council to launch a new nature market across the county.

The Cornwall LINC Nature Market will enable businesses or organisations that want/need to invest in green improvements to buy environmental credits from landowners who can provide projects that benefit nature, such as by improving water quality, creating wildlife habitats or capturing carbon.

Local Investment in Nature – Cornwall (LINC) is a two-year programme funded by Defra and administered by the Environment Agency. Cornwall is one of four pilot areas working across England to develop frameworks for channelling private funding into natural capital projects. Closely aligned to Cornwall’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy, LINC seeks to contribute to the ambition of having 30% of Cornwall well managed for nature by 2030.

Councillor Martyn Alvey, Cornwall’s cabinet member for environment and climate change, said: “This is a great opportunity for landowners to contribute to Cornwall’s environmental goals while also benefiting financially. We encourage everyone to explore how they can get involved.”
