Aecom appoints new director for water

Consultancy firm, Aecom, has appointed Will Barnett as its new director to lead its water team of 700 people in the UK and Ireland.

The team works on “projects across the region for water utilities and public sector organisations” including infrastructure modernisation, leakage reduction, sustainability best practice and customer engagement. It is part of Aecom’s Environment, Water and Energy division.

Aecom said Barnett has more than 25 years of experience in the regulated water industry in the UK and Ireland. His previous job was at Jacobs, where he held “a number of business management and leadership roles, most recently as client delivery director for water and environment”.

Earlier appointments include senior, client-side and programme delivery roles, including technical director at Thames Water and engineering lead at Arcadis.
