Ofwat has made a final determination on price and non-price terms of Welsh Water's supply of non-potable water to a Tata Steel site in South Wales under a special agreement.
The latest version of the 50-year old agreement on Welsh Water's supply of non-potable water to the Llanwern site expired in March 2004. Tata Steel’s predecessor and the water firm failed to reach a new agreement and called on Ofwat to make a determination on price and other disputed issues in 2008.
In June 2015 Ofwat consulted on its draft determination before issuing this week its final determination in the dispute. The terms of Ofwat's final determination were considered by both sides of the dispute to be commercially confidential so they have not been made public.
