Water companies’ responses to the draft regulations governing exit from business retail competition published last week have been “broadly supportive” of the approach taken by the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) in drafting the exit rules according to the government department.
Answers to the 16 questions in the consultation on the draft regulations are published in the Defra summary paper Consultation on Draft Regulations: The
Water and Sewerage Undertakers (Exit from Non-household Retail Market) Regulations. Summary of responses and the government’s response.
The responses, the government said in the paper, “have provided us with assurance that we are taking the right approach.”
